Mission

The mission of the Intercollegiate Wrestling Officials Association (ICWOA) is to develop, educate, support, and connect wrestling officials through mentorship, professional development, education, networking, and opportunities to advance within collegiate wrestling.

The ICWOA is committed to promoting consistency, professionalism, integrity, and excellence in officiating while creating a strong national community where officials can learn from one another, share their experience, and help develop the next generation of wrestling officials.

Vision

To be the leading national organization for the development and advancement of collegiate wrestling officials, creating a connected and professional officiating community where officials at every stage of their careers have the resources, mentorship, education, relationships, and opportunities needed to reach their full potential.

History

The Intercollegiate Wrestling Officials Association (ICWOA) was founded in the summer of 2015 by a group of wrestling officials who shared a vision of creating an organization dedicated to the education, mentorship, development, and advancement of wrestling officials. From its beginning, the ICWOA was built on the belief that the quality of officiating directly impacts the quality and integrity of the sport. The founders recognized the need for an organization that would bring officials together and provide those elements that were previously missing.

Since its establishment, the ICWOA has been an active and progressive organization committed to serving officials at every stage of their careers. The association actively recruits new members each year through in-person outreach and social media campaigns, while encouraging its members to promote and represent the sport of wrestling both on and off the mat.
